The FDA requested the suspension of marketing and distribution of Zelnorm (tegaserod maleate). Physicians have been advised to work with their patients to transition them to other therapies as appropriate to their symptoms and needs.

In considering other treatment options for your patients with acute or chronic constipation, consider KRISTALOSE® (lactulose) For Oral Solution. KRISTALOSE is indicated for the treatment of constipation. In patients with a history of chronic constipation, lactulose therapy increases the number of bowel movements per day and the number of days on which bowel movements occur.
